Piano Study No. 2

Reflecting my experience as a singer and a folk musician, this piece exploits a strong melodic line with a simple chordal backing using a repeated ninth throughout almost the entire piece. Click here for the score.

Recorders 4

Composed as part of my Degree portfolio this piece was through composed, exploring the various extended techniques that the recorder family have to offer in conjunction with varying levels of delay and reverb. I multi-tracked all of the recorder parts myself; score is available upon request.

Other compositions will be posted here as they are published.

Performances

Ceilidhography - Mexican Tent Jig, William Taylor's Tabletop Hornpipe

A founding member of Ceilidhography, I performed with them for fifteen years as saxophonist, recorder player and clarinetist. This performance was taken from a live recording at The Anchor Gardens, Sidmouth Folk Week 2014 with Fee Lock calling.

Hymn to the Virgin - Edmund Rubbra

I am a tenor with many years experience working as both a soloist and a chamber singer. This song has long been a favourite of mine; this performance was given at a concert of the Gallery Singers in Much Wenlock, Shropshire, in the spring of 2015.

The Gallery Singers at The Choir of the Year in St. Albans

In June 2016, the Gallery Singers performed at the Choir of the Year auditions and won the coveted "Choir of the Day" award with the following performance. I'm singing the lead in the first piece, "Sit Down, You're Rocking The Boat" from Frank Loesser's show "Guys and Dolls"; the second piece, Eric Whitacre's "Sleep", was equally well received.
